First, today's weather: Warm with clouds and sun, with some risk for 'severe storms.' High: 89 Low: 62. Here are the top stories today in Irving: Dallas-Fort Worth area homebuilding permits fell in August for the first time in over a year. The drop marked a 14 percent decrease compared to August 2020 and nearly a 20 percent decrease from July. Some markets aren't feeling the pinch quite as much, though: Both Celina and Frisco are considered the hottest housing markets in North Texas, according to the Dallas Business Journal.
