You are willing to get dirty and perform physical labor You are at least 18 years old You do NOT have a full-time school or work schedule (sorry, we cannot accommodate additional full-time schedules) Waggin' Tails Dog Resort is looking for a dog daycare attendant to add to our team. We are a small family owned and operated business where the owners work and manage full-time with a small crew of passionate dog lovers. Dog daycare is a place for dogs to get to play unleashed in a controlled setting monitored by our staff. We also offer overnight boarding and basic bathing services. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic dog lovers, strong-willed, and self-motivated individuals who feel comfortable around large groups of dogs. Professional experience with dogs is desired, but not necessary. We will train the right person. This position is not just playing with dogs all day. It will require a lot of standing, kneeling, cleaning, and physical labor. When large groups of dogs are together, they are active, loud, and rambunctious. Our job is to monitor these play groups to ensure their safety. Monitoring dog play yards takes a lot of natural confidence, patience, and self-control. Dogs need to trust you, yet know that you are in charge. Everyone shares the work load, including shifts and task loads, which means everyone will be trained on every aspect of the job, including (but not limited to) cleaning, dog handling, dog bathing, database management, and customer service. You must be willing and able to learn all elements of the job. Hours available will vary week to week based on the number of dogs in our facility, but we hope to consistently offer 25-30 hours per week. Minimum Requirements: Flexible Schedule - Preference is given to those with open availability/ very limited exceptions - Weekend and Holiday availability is a must Excellent attendance and punctuality At least 18 years of age with your own reliable vehicle Be able to stand for at least 5 hours at a time Physically and mentally capable of reacting to and resolving all potential dog altercations Confident around ALL dog breeds Lift up to 50lbs (primarily to lift dogs into the tub for bathing) Able to bend and kneel to clean many different surfaces with a variety of cleaning products A basic understanding of dog behavior Self motivated, hard working, and friendly Willing and able to complete Canine CPR and First Aid Certification training Clear a background check Salary is $12.50/hour.
