Description

ISO partner for +/- acoustic chillout loopy improv repetoire for gigging at pubs, wine bars, small events, busking. Im looking for another gtr, a bass, cajon or similar, but open to other ideas. Ive been playing folk/blues, bottleneck, fingerpicky rock stuff since my teens, but studying flamenco for 5+ yrs, with arabic rhythm, euro-folk, blues tangents. I am an amateur but have experience playing solo, duo, and bigger shows in live venues on my gear, on house, and unamped, for tips and in a few ticketed shows. I want to be lightweight and cordless on equipment. My principal instrument is a nylon-string flamenco guitar, but also play acoustics, and have an old Danelectro that I can get a fair Elmore James sound out of. My solo set up is the nylon gtr thru a fishman loudbox mini and a looper pedal on a cordless power supply. My music theory is not formal, but I can find my way around harmonic scales, the modes, and beats other than 4/4, 3/4, 2/2. As a player I love manitas de plata, paco de lucia, pepe habichuela, juan serrano, juan martin, santiago lara, sabicas, flamenco pacifico, rodrigo & gabriella, hot tuna, john fayhee, john renbourne, john butler trio, baden powell... and as a fanboy fripp, eno, Eddie Hazel, Praxis, Fela Kuti, Hendrix, Santana, Zep, Pink Floyd, and most of the Skerik-Medeski-Claypool musicverse. I am fortuneate to study in Portland with Jeffrey Ashton and Brenna MacDonald (thru Espacio Flamenco). Please contact me if you would be interested in collaborating. im more likely to reply to messages that give me some info to go on.
