Calling all kayakers, canoers! Volunteer to help cleanup the Hillsborough River on Friday, October 29th. Join Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful for a spooky river cleanup as we launch from Freedom Boat Club - Tampa II: Rick's on the River. The cleanup is part of Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful’s Trash Free Waters Program and serves as a call to action to create more sustainable communities by focusing volunteer efforts on activities that impact individuals in need, lead to aesthetic community improvements, and provide a positive environmental impact. Litter on roadways, in parks, rivers, and neighborhoods negatively affects the environment, and isn’t something residents or visitors want to see in their community. Participants in the cleanup will assist with litter removal and beautification of the downtown area! Date: Friday, October 29th Check-in: 3:30 p.m. Cleanup Time: 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Where: Launching from Freedom Boat Club - Tampa II: Rick's on the River 2305 North Willow Avenue , Tampa, FL 33607 What To Bring : • Kayak/Canoe • Work or garden gloves • Sunscreen • Hat/Sunglasses • Protective footwear (close-toed) Trash bags, water and soft gloves are provided.
