The second meeting in our month-long educational series will look at HOUSING and how to build smart for stronger communities. For this educational series, we will be screening a video presentation put together by Keys of the Valley called Building Smart for Stronger Communities Keys to the Valley, is an initiative of three local planning commissions in NH and VT. We go into this showing with a shared understanding that we have a housing crisis in the Upper Valley. This will be put into context with data at the start of the video. There is no one way to make it better for all of us and it will require ideas and efforts from a number of people, and that can include you. This presentation covers a lot of ground and our purpose in sharing it is to look at a variety of perspectives and options and then to have a short discussion about your reactions. Please note, the town scenarios referenced in the video are all hypothetical, not actual plans from the commissions. The screening will last approximately 1 hour. Following the video (approximately 7:15 p.m.) we'll have a chance to discuss what we saw and heard, get reactions, and start talking about how this might apply to Enfield. Please remember, the purpose of the educational workshops is to share ideas, ask questions, and learn more. They are not proposals of decided strategies or pushing any pre-determined agendas.
