The JAYCEES Alumni & Volunteers will be organizing walking/hiking, planting/pruning, wildlife and water fowl observations The JAYCEES Alumni & Volunteers will be organizing walking/hiking, planting/pruning, wildlife and water fowl observations ~ throughout the Summer ~ along their 400 linear foot award-winning Arboretum, the 1.3 mile rugged state Senator Donald Roch Riverwalk, traversing along the newly-established W.. Warwick Riverwalk (Pawtuxet River Valley Walkway) and the extensive six(6) mile West Bay Bikepath or Greeway, connecting the municipalities of Cranston, Warwick, West Warwick and Coventry in central Rhode Island. Warwick Riverwalk (Pawtuxet River Valley Walkway) and the extensive six(6) mile West Bay Bikepath or Greeway, connecting the municipalities of Cranston, Warwick, West Warwick and Coventry in central Rhode Island. This picturesque trail system is nestled along the largest waterway of the state and its all-important confluence of the north and south branches, the Pawtuxet River and its watershed. The JAYCEE Arboretum & Senator Roch Riverwalk, is a wellness walk location designed to promote healthy lifestyles, outdoor open space activities such as paddling / kayaking, trail walking/running, wildlife and water fowl observations and the overall concept of connecting the public with trails in their communities and regions while building partnerships to protect and enhance trails and nature lanes. http://www.exploreri.org/gSiteReport2.php?siteID=71&src=siteList Contact E-mail: [email protected] Junior Community Servants (JCS) OUR VISION To become the organization of choice for youth & young people, providing direction and leadership to our communities and nation.... worldwide! Mission Statement OUR MISSION To provide youth & young people the opportunity to develop their total person and by improving personal skills while enhancing leadership abilities through local community service and organizational involvement. The JCS Alumni Education & Library Foundation has an open membership to support scholastic, community development, leadership training, medical & research causes and all charitable efforts as a 501(c)(3) public service corporation. It also maintains a strong financial assistance presence for the Kent County JCS for its members between 18 40 (Senior Corps 40 - 50) in continuing the more than half-century traditions of building great communities through individual and personal skill development. JCS Alumni Education & Library Foundation The JCS Alumni Education & Library Foundation was established in 1990 to enhance the educational, charitable, leadership development, and community action programs of (Rhode Island) JCS through the time-driven tenets of community service management. The objectives of the JCS Alumni Education & Library Foundation provides funding for various programs of the local Junior Community Servants in the areas of program promotions/public relations, charitable/medical causes, educational measures and library services along with the main purpose to cooperatively assist as a purveyor of 'producing' quality community development.- JAY -TEENS ('JCS')The JCS-TEENS are groups of young students from 13 - 17 years old, who are committed to helping their community, building their own character and self-esteem and preparing themselves for becoming great citizens. They emulate the JuniorCommunity Servants JCS model! This JCS group has also been recognized as an outstanding 'Mentoring' organization by the "COMMUNITY YOUTH & PARTNERSHIP" Initiative and as a consulting operative for JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT of Rhode Island. The JCS have just been recognized with the 2005 Community Impact Environmental Award by the Volunteer Center of Rhode Island and have been nationally selected via the USA Weekend Newspaper Group for their 2004 Make A Difference Day 'Family and Ethnic' Celebration They also have received the 2002 Senator Donald Roch 'Founder's Award' via the Pawtuxet River Authority & Watershed Council! The JCS have additionally been honored for their tremendous efforts over the years in land use rehabilitation and preservation, environmental education, and community action by the Southern Rhode Island Conservation District with its 2005 Recognition of Service Award! For the Fourteenth (14)consecutive year in 2015, the JCS assisted their home-based municipal government with the nationwide certification, 'TREE CITY/USA'designation via the National Arbor Day Foundation. The JCS are extremely proud of their Award-winning Arboretum Chairman, who was a recipient of the prestigious Outstanding Volunteer of the Year' 2009 Awards by the Volunteer Center of Rhode Island & SERVE/RI. We are additionally proud to announce that our Executive Director was presented the " PRESIDENTIAL 'LIFETIME' SERVICE AWARD" for outstanding, extensive and dedicated volunteer service and civic participation on behalf of the President of the United States of America!
