Clematis by Fright will anchor the month-long celebrations. All events will take place on or near the Great Lawn, located at 100 N. Clematis St. Community Events Saving energy, water, and money is easy! By participating in the Home Efficiency Upgrades program, you can learn conservation tips and receive free resources (low flow shower heads, LED light bulbs, and more) to help you get started saving energy, water, and money at home. The program is Tuesday, October 19, 2021, 6pm-8pm, at the Gaines Park Community Center, 1501 N. Australian Ave., This program is available to city residents only. Space is limited. As part of its effort to inform residents and business owners about the importance of having flood insurance, the city encourages you to review new, interactive maps for potential flood insurance premium changes. Flammable Materials Improperly Discarded Pose Fire Hazard for City Employees, Public While a team of Public Works employees recently conducted routine garbage pickups, their sanitation vehicle caught fire in the area of Florida Mango Rd. With the vehicle's rear compactor ablaze, the quick-thinking team pulled over and took immediate steps to protect themselves, their vehicle and the public. For the protection of city sanitation employees and the public, please do not dispose of flammable or hazardous materials in your trash and garbage. Calling all Broadway Businesses! Dixie Highway Redevelopment Proposals Mandel Public Library's FREE October Events and Activities - Here's a snapshot of just a few of the many library events in October: Hispanic Heritage Month The city is observing Hispanic Heritage Month through October 15, 2021. This observance celebrates the histories, cultures and contributions of Latinos/Hispanics. The city, along with its partners, and the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach (411 Clematis Street), will host various FREE community events throughout the month. City Hall and the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach will be closed on Monday, October 11, 2021 in observance of Columbus Day, a federal holiday. Sanitation services including trash and garbage pickup will be provided.
