After 911, Bush and the department of homeland security did a great job od securing our borders. Immigrants have a much mike challenging time getting in or out. Prior to this lock down, immigrants came for months or a year or two, made some money and then went back home for a year or two. Now, they know it will new very difficult to return if they leave. So they do not risk it. Immigrants come to the U.S. but never leave. There are no longer migrant or seasonal workers. As strange as it may sound d, less secure borders meant less immigrants in the U.S. at any given moment. People would come and go. Now, they only come and never leave.
