The mission of Newton at Home (NAH), a nonprofit membership organization, is to help older Newton residents thrive and stay connected as they age. We have a 10-year track record of hands-on impact with more than 100 current volunteers, 23,000 service requests met, and over 8,000 rides provided. We are part of the nationwide Village to Village Network We would like to add up to three people to our Board of Directors The Board determines, implements, and reflects NAH's mission. It provides financial oversight, represents and advocates for NAH in Newton, provides leadership for committees, conducts fundraising, ensures legal compliance, and monitors staff effectiveness. Board members are part of an established, successful, and dynamic organization that is enhancing the lives of Newton's older adults. They are contributing to a social change movement that advances a positive perspective on aging. We are looking for people who can work effectively as part of a working team. Some of the skills we look for to strengthen the Board and committees are Marketing, Communications, Health and Wellness, and Fundraising. Comfort with policy development and the operational aspects of nonprofit organizations is desirable. Board members are elected for three-year terms and may serve a total of six consecutive years. The board typically meets once per month, currently by Zoom. We prefer board members who live or work in Newton or have some significant relationship to Newton.
