his week, District 5 Miami City Commissioner Jeffrey Watson, in collaboration with EmpowerU, Keeping the Faith, The National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Clubs held a COVID-19 testing and vaccination event at Charles Hadley Park. During the Wednesday, October 6 event, local residents were provided first and second dose shots of the Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines, as well as the Pfizer booster dose.
"We will continue to do our part to ensure that the residents of District 5 remain safe and informed on the dangers of the COVID-19 virus," said Commissioner Watson.
More than 50 vaccinations were administered during the event - either the first dose, second dose or vaccine booster. Commissioner Watson's office also provided refreshments, masks, hand sanitizer and information on City services to those receiving vaccines.
