San Diego County health officials reported 559 new cases of COVID-19 and two deaths Friday, while also announcing the first local death of an unvaccinated pregnant woman.
With the latest numbers, the county's case totals rose to 360,415, along with 4,113 deaths, since the pandemic began.
The county also reported 22,644 new tests, with a slight uptick to a 3% positive rate over the past seven days.
Ten new patients required hospital care for COVID-19, and one needed to be placed in intensive care.
Meanwhile, the county said Friday that an unvaccinated woman who died earlier this week became the first pregnant patient locally to perish due to COVID-19.
On Wednesday, health officials issued an alert to the local medical community warning of an increase in COVID cases among unvaccinated pregnant women.
