Press release from The Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce: Oct. 9, 2021 The Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce a celebratory, in-person, outdoor event that is open to everyone in the community. The event, fittingly named Pleasanton, Let's Celebrate, will take place on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Barone's Backyard in downtown Pleasanton. In honor of the Community Service Award recipients and the chamber's 75th anniversary, the Pleasanton Chamber is hosting this community celebration with hors d'oeuvres, drinks and live music. Since the COVID-19 pandemic has canceled countless in-person events in the last 18 months, the chamber is looking forward to gathering for a festive, feel-good evening to honor good people doing great things in Pleasanton and recognize the milestone anniversary as well. COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARDS A great group of businesses, organizations and individuals had been chosen as the recipients for the Chamber's 57th Annual Community Service Awards, originally set to take place in March of 2020. While the honorees were celebrated in print in the chamber's November 2020 Business Connection newsletter, it was always the intention to recognize the honorees in person. The recipients have demonstrated excellence and community leadership in business, volunteer activities and achievement within the Pleasanton community. The honorees for the 57th Annual Community Service Awards are: Business Philanthropy UNCLE CREDIT UNION Chevron Teacher Award JONATHAN GRANTHAM Excellence in Business BUMBLEBEE MARKETING SERVICES Excellence in Service SPECTRUM COMMUNITY SERVICES Green Business EAST BAY REGIONAL PARK DISTRICT Lifetime Achievement VIC MALATESTA Distinguished Individual Service BERNIE BILLEN (1948-2021) CHAMBER'S 75TH ANNIVERSARY One of the most engaging and successful chambers in the Bay Area, the Pleasanton Chamber has been celebrating its 75th anniversary throughout 2021 with a variety of captivating stories, news articles, and reflections from community leaders, all of which can be found on the chamber's special 75th anniversary webpage www.pleasanton.org/celebrating-75-years/. The occasion will be commemorated in-person at the Barone's event. Pleasanton, Let's Celebrate, sponsored by AT&T and Chevron, will celebrate the amazing people who go the extra mile to make Pleasanton a fabulous place to live and do business. The public is invited to attend this fun-filled evening beginning at 5:00 p.m., with live music from Retroactive, featuring high energy music from Motown to today's hits, all outside in the wonderful setting of Barone's Backyard.
