Description
WORCESTER, MA — Pay extra close attention to that flock of pigeons down the block — one of them might be on the lam.
A pigeon from the EcoTarium natural history museum in Worcester escaped from its enclosure Friday evening, and was still on the loose as of Saturday morning. Although pigeons are sometimes difficult to tell apart, the museum's bird, whose name is Pidge, does have some distinct markings.
"We are asking the local community to keep an eye out for Pidge who has a green band on his left leg that's reads 2017PL33392," the museum wrote in a tweet Friday night.
EcoTarium wildlife keepers have used the bird as part of educational programming at the museum, and it does still have the ability to fly. Pidge is the EcoTarium's only pigeon, although the museum has a flock of other animals, including mountain lions, otters, a fox and a turkey vulture.
If you see Pidge, call (203) 731-4262.
