Solomon's Porch is a Convergent Catholic community located in north central Phoenix. As a small church, pre-COVID, the effects of the virus have weighed heavily on our congregation in many ways. As we begin to look to the post-COVID future, we recognize that it is time to rebuild our team, renew our commitments to one another and our community, and revive our congregation. It is in this spirit that we have decided to seek a Music Leader to help us with creating a sacred space for our weekly mass. We are looking for a passionate individual to lead us in worship through the art of music as lead vocalist and instrumentalist. This person would be charged with choosing the selection of music to be utilized in our weekly mass; pre-planning the selections 2 weeks in advanced is encouraged. Our former lead instrumentalist, who is unable to play an instrument due to a stroke, would be willing to assist in vocals and song selection. Stylistically, we prefer a blend of traditional and contemporary hymns. We have been without live music for some time and have been using pre-recorded contemporary Christian selections, so we are willing to work with the right candidate. We currently meet at 8640 N. 19th Avenue Phoenix AZ 85021 (Faith UMC at 19th Ave and Alice). Setup/Rehearsal starts at 11:15am Our Mass begins at 12pm and typically lasts about 1 hour. The weekly stipend for this role is $50, paid out each month.
