Bass Player Looking

Meets

Santa Rosa CA

Description

I am an older, retired bass player, recently moved to Santa Rosa. I would like to join a start-up or existing project. I like R&B / Funk, Reggae, Old Country, and good singer/songwriter covers ( e.g. Jason Isbell, Peter Mulvey, Richard Thompson, John Prine, Kevin Welch, Allison Mooer, Mary Gauthier). I’m not a rocker at heart, but I like Neil Young, Tom Petty, and Bob Dylan. I know some theory when it is helpful for communication. I can play some jazz. My main request of your outfit is that the singing is decent, i.e. on pitch 98% of the time. I can sing some backup and harmony. I am fully vaxxed. I am reliable. I bring no drama and I have a good sense of humor. I do not know a lot of tunes off the top of my head, but I have a good ear and I can ‘hear’ the changes to most pop tunes when they remain in the same key. You can go here: https://www.reverbnation.com/michaelmwarner9 to hear me playing bass guitar. I chose these two songs to show that I can be true to the groove. I am pictured playing a Kala Ubass. which when amplified, can sound much like a stand-up bass. On the ReverbNation recordings, I’m playing a conventional bass guitar. I also play guitar and I can pad keys (or accordion ) for simple stuff, but being a full-time bass player is fine with me. I am willing to drive to your rehearsal spot, depending on the circumstances. Thanks for considering me. Mike
