Hi, I'm Cookie (dog social....slow intro req.) Sadly, I am set to be euthanized Monday, October 11th at 8 am. I am E-listed because I am still having some timid and fearful behaviors with unfamiliar people. My under-socialization issues won't improve while I'm stuck in this concrete kennel. Shelter environment is not making me better and it’s not good for me to be here anymore. Who can save my life before I get put down? I am a 3.6-year-old, spayed, brown and white Boxer/Staffordshire Terrier mix (54.5 lbs.). I have been here for 6 months!! Although I have made progress interacting with staff, I continue to be cautious and shy around people I don’t know. I’m not sure why my owners dumped me here. They said I liked people and dogs. At the shelter, I coexisted OK with other dogs but kept to myself. Since I have been here, I have gained confidence with staff, I wag my tail and enjoy pets so much I lean in for more! I relax and walk nicely on-leash when taken for a walk. I also take treats gently. I need an adopter that understands a shy dog like me and will give me time to build trust and warm up. Children in the home must be 12+. Since dog introductions are not being done currently at the shelter, I will need a slow in-home introduction with an adopter’s dog. The shelter is full, and no extensions! I will be put down 10/11! I am hoping that someone will give me a chance. Will you be that person? Please come meet me before I am gone forever!
