Arabic Calligraphy for Beginners with Kanaan Kanaan The Center for the Study and Preservation of Palestine welcomes local artist Kanaan Kanaan in teaching Arabic Calligraphy for Beginners for the Palestinian community and friends. The event takes place October 16th from 11-1pm as a part of our Palestine Through the Senses gatherings sponsored by the City of Portland. Kanaan is a visual artist by training and industrious, but his career has been shaped by his ability to understand how all of the pieces of complex thoughts and concepts come together in a cohesive and harmonious way. Over the course of 25 years in creative arts, education and other industries, he conducted workshops, panel discussions and speaking at conferences nationally and internationally on education, art, equity, technology, and social change initiatives.
