Welcome to ULaunch @ UMass Fall 2021. Brought to you by the UMass Entrepreneurship Club. About the Event The hardest part of any dream is starting. Welcome to ULaunch @ UMass Fall 2021 where we will help you actualize your ambitions and own your life! Over the course of two days, you will join 25 - 40 aspiring entrepreneurs, engineers, graphic designers, marketers, and everywhere in between, all with the goal of creating a team and launching your own startup right here at UMass. We'll provide the space, innovative teammates, and resources you need to take the first major steps in starting your entrepreneurial venture. You do not need to have an idea or team prior, you can make one here or join a team. What you get at ULaunch: A stronger belief in yourselfMentors and resources to start or join a startup over the weekendCash awards and moreA startup you could run for life!How It Will Work Everyone is encouraged to bring an idea with them, however only 5-8 ideas will be used post-voting. Contestants will pitch ideas on and then vote on their top ideas. Next, teams will be formed using these top ideas and the competition will begin Our goal is to give students with a creative passion the means to express their entrepreneurial talents, create something of their own, and pursue their passions with the help of our sponsors and mentors. Winning teams will be awarded a cash prize to advance your startup 1st ($1000)    2nd ($700)     3rd ($300) Schedule Saturday 10/23 11:00 - 12:00 - Welcome & guest speakers 2:00 - 1:30 - Initial idea pitching & team formation 3:00 - 6:00- Mentorship sessions & workshops (optional) Sunday 10/24 11:00 - 1:00 - Practice pitching & receive feedback 1:00 - 2:00 - Presentation 2:30 - 3:00 - Close & network (optional) Important notes Must be first time competing with this idea in a competition, but you may enter with prior researchNo experience necessaryCome with a team or form your own, we ask that you will be welcoming of new team members as wellTeams will be restricted to 4 members (subject to change)This event is for UMass students. The Entrepreneurship Club helps students step aside from safe careers to pursue their innovative ideas and ingenious inventions in crafting a more fulfilling life. We aim to inspire, educate, and assist our student entrepreneurs by bringing the most value to our members through engagement, community, accountability, and skill-development.
