OVERVIEW I am a single, full-time working executive with two teenage children, looking for an experienced and professional Housekeeper who likes to cook. Pre-pandemic I commuted to my office in CT and now I will work “hybrid”, some days in CT and some days from my home office with occasional business travel. I am organized and efficient, and my children are warm and very independent. We are seeking a candidate who possesses a similar mindset and who will keep us functioning well and operating smoothly. You are someone who relishes maintaining an uncluttered, welcoming space so that I can focus unencumbered on my work and my children. You like order and tidiness – you see something that needs attention, and you take care of it. You pride yourself on maintaining an organized and well-cared for home and you have the flexibility to support a working Mom who must travel occasionally for personal and professional obligations. The ideal candidate is: ● Positive with a can-do attitude; problem solver ● Professional, available to assist, but aware of when to retreat from view ● Organized and detail-oriented ● Discrete and confidential; exercises good judgement ● Able to follow directions, yet comfortable asking for guidance or clarification and adjusting accordingly (especially in the beginning) ● Possesses excellent communication skills, (both written and verbal) ● Possesses computer/internet skills Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: HOUSEKEEPING ● Complete housekeeping responsibilities; pristine cleaning of 4 bedroom /3.5 bath 3500sq ft residence and daily upkeep (beds, dishwasher, surfaces, trash) ● Laundry, ironing LIGHT COOKING ● Plan and coordinate weekly meal schedule based on family activities ● Prepare casual dinners or meal preparation ● Prepare occasional lunches/snacks ● Able to follow simple recipes (nothing too elaborate!) ● Cut and replenish fresh vegetables, fruit for healthy snacking ● Procure groceries, maintain shopping list and cleaning supplies on regular basis ● Occasional prep and clean-up for special dinners and guest events HOUSEHOLD ADMINISTRATION ● Maintain household organization (closets, pantries, cabinets, etc.) ● Assist with scheduling and calendaring appointments ● Sort mail, return packages, dry cleaning and other family errands ● Coordinate household maintenance with building staff or external contractors REQUIREMENTS ● Minimum 3 years related work experience in a private residence ● Professional, polished and poised at all times ● Hands-on with positive attitude, strong work ethic and an attention to detail ● Exceptional organizational and time-management skills ● Utmost sense of confidentiality and discretion ● Strong communication skills, both written and verbal (English) ● Computer skills (email, calendar, ordering on-line) ● Excellent references from current and previous employers ● Flexibility in schedule with availability to sleepover when I am traveling (with advance notice and additional compensation) ● Must be vaccinated and have booster shot when recommended by CDC DETAILS ● Family of 3 located on Upper West Side (near subway) ● 5 days per week (Monday – Friday) 10am-7 pm base working hours ● Ability to shift days, hours and times when necessary ● Additional Compensation for overnight ● 3+ weeks of paid vacation, must be coordinated with family schedule ● Salary is commensurate with experience If interested, please send a response detailing your interest and why you think you may be a good fit.
