Drummer wanted for a project based in 60s–early 70’s psychedelic and garage rock’n’roll. I'm conceiving this as a recording project for now, with the possibility of recording 5-10 songs in the winter/spring, but also have ambitions to play live, etc. Not really a paying proposition, but strong connections to studios, local venues, and beyond. UK and US ’66-’69 psych: Pretty Things the Creation, the Factory, the Yardbirds, Fleur de Lys, Tomorrow, early Pink Floyd 13th Floor Elevators Love wild-ass late 60s/early 70s rock: the Stooges, MC5, Pink Fairies, Hawkwind; Dutch beat groups, Turkish psych, Krautrock The Beatles, the Byrds, and the Stones. Modern: Spacemen 3, Spiritualized, Dead Meadow, Comets on Fire, Tame Impala, Wooden Shjips, Kikagaku Moyo. Structured, hooky songs > long jams; 60s introspection and inventiveness with punk attitude. Looking for people that get 60s-style drum sounds a la Ringo, but can also branch out a bit, play fast but accurately, improvise. Please respond with sound samples, and I will do likewise.
