In this role, you will be guided by locally renowned chefs and begin your journey to learning how to operate your own kitchen. Come learn about organization, knife work, food preparation, recipes and how a kitchen functions. Chef and the director of food and beverage will make sure that at least one shift each week is out of the dishpit and learning how to prepare food or a different kitchen function learning opportunity. We are now hiring for Kitchen Porters/Stewards Summary: This position will be to ensure training and accomplishment in well-rounded kitchen functions and hospitality skills to last a lifetime! This position will also clean, sanitize and organize kitchen and dining room equipment. Porters will keep kitchen work areas clean, empty and removes all trash and recycling and completes assigned prep work in accordance with Chef’s specifications. OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: • Provides guests and employees with clean and sanitized utensils, plate ware, glassware and equipment. • Ensures dishes are sanitized and available as needed. • Keep sanitation solutions up to health department code standards at all times. • Sets up the dish machine in the AM and closes down the machine in the PM according to procedures. • Maintains daily cleanliness and maintenance of the dish machine. • Washes plate ware, glassware, silverware, pots/pans and kitchen utensils according to sanitation and cleaning procedures. • Places clean plate ware, glassware, silverware and pots/pans in specified shelves according to sanitation and cleaning procedures. • Keeps the kitchen and employee lunch room clean by sweeping, mopping floors, lining and emptying trash. • Cleans and sanitizes throughout the shift. • Receive food deliveries, checking contents to verify product quantity and quality. • May help with prep work. QUALIFICATIONS: Required • Lifts and carries sacks, cases and bus tubs of up to 70 lbs. Up to 20 times per shift; places these items on high shelves in walk-in refrigerators and freezers. • Frequent bending and stooping, reaching, wiping.
