CARRIE (1976) 45th Anniversary Screening /// Reception at 6:00 PM / Film starts at 8:00 PM Camelot Theatres in the Palm Springs Cultural Center welcomes back The Filmmakers' Gallery as they present a 45th Anniversary Screening of the Stephen King/Brian DePalma Academy Award-nominated horror classic, CARRIE! There will be a social Cocktail Reception (no host bar) starting at 6:00 PM outside followed by "A Conversation with... a Very Special Guest" at 7:30 PM. Film starts at 8:00 PM. Filmmaker's Gallery Film Fact: CARRIE was Stephen King's first adaptation of one of his novels into film!CARRIE was nominated for two academy awards. The Palm Springs Cultural Center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was established to encourage the development of the cultural arts in the Coachella Valley with a specific focus in the areas of film, fine art, live performance, dance, music, and community festivals. The Center is dedicated to advancing education, to nurturing community-wide participation in the cultural arts, and to sponsoring scholarship awards for deserving individuals.
