Downtown History Ghost Tour Join us if you dare, for a historic Halloween scare. The Downtown History Walking Tours will have a special tour featuring the haunts and horrors Downtown's past. Learn of the mysterious disappearance from at the Oroville Inn. Enjoy a performance of the haunting tale of the murder of Susie McDaniel, one of Butte County's oldest scary stories. We will then travel through time to historic Gem Saloon, and be visited by the ghost of Black Bart. The evening will conclude with a ghostly celebration at the 1933 Ritz Club. This is a free event but we encourage you to tip your tour guide. Downtown Oroville is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing and restoring Downtown Oroville as a thriving and diverse retail and cultural center. It serves as an independent advocate actively engaged in the promotion of a prosperous downtown community and a catalyst for a vibrant and welcoming downtown, which deserves much greater recognition for its entrepreneurial opportunities and historic beauty.
