Join us for another great parenting seminar! This in-person event is open to all who work with youth. www.blackriveruw.org Occurring monthly. The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program is one of the most effective evidence-based parenting programs in the world, backed up by more than 35 years of ongoing research. Triple P gives parents simple and practical strategies to help them build strong, healthy relationships, confidently manage their children’s behavior and prevent problems developing. Triple P Seminar: The Triple P Series of three seminars for groups of parents focuses on positive ways to promote children’s development. Seminar 1: The Power of Positive parenting introduces you to the five core principles of positive parenting. Creating a safe, engaging environmentHaving a positive learning environmentUsing assertive disciplineHaving reasonable expectationsTaking care of yourself as a parentSeminar 2: Raising Confident, Competent Children introduces you to strategies that help children develop social, interpersonal, and intellectual competence. Showing respect to othersBeing considerateHaving good communication and social skillsHaving healthy self-esteemBecoming a good problem solverBecoming independentSeminar 3: Raising Resilient Children introduces you to strategies that help children develop emotional coping strategies for dealing with their feelings and coping with life stresses.
