Description
PEABODY, MA — Road work is returning to Route 128with night lane closures expected in the Peabody and Danvers stretch next week.
The state Department of Transportation said work on the stretch between Route 114 and Endicott Street will resume Tuesday at 8 p.m. and continue nightly through Friday at 5 a.m.
Temporary lane closures where necessary will take place during those hours.
These temporary impacts are necessary to allow the contractor to complete excavation operations and barrier relocation on the southbound side, the DOT said.
Safety signs, traffic control devices and police details will be used to guide drivers through the work zone. Drivers at those hours should expect delays through the areas.
The work is being conducted as part of a $24.7 million project to reconstruct the bridge carrying Route 128 over the Waters River.
