Paranormal occurrences such as lights flickering, faint voices, sightings of a human figure, and footsteps when no one’s around, are said to be some of the strange occurrences that have been going on at the Griswold Auditorium for many years. These activities are thought to be the mischevious after-life activities of the late Mrs. Marilla Griswold, a wealthy lumber baroness who’s generous bequest of $100,000 help built the the 650 seat facility in 1929. However, a much better otherworldly candidate might be Ms. Abbie Smith, an actress and performer who was very active with the Allegan Community Players during her lifetime and spent a lot of time at the Griswold Auditorium performing while she was alive.
