Description
Good Day Gone: Written by Little Greg Fontana in 1993 when a family friend was killed on her senior class trip and who The Half Moon Bay softball field was named after. Greg was originally going to add Spanish style acoustic guitar flavored riffs through out the song. But his 2nd cousin Brian Sagrafena had a better idea in mind. A steel guitar player was brought into the studio to add a whole other dimension to the biggest hit on the album. Greg and Brian argued about the tempo because Greg already screwed up the timing in some of the other songs that had be re done. One song even had to be thrown out. But Greg nailed the speed on this one. It was so slow that Brian struggled to play the drums to it at first. But Brian's excellent percussion style all came together in the long run. 25 years later when this song was finally recorded not one word, chord, or bridge changed through the years. The Lucky Dozen album produced the true original version that evolved 25 years prior and is one of the greatest songs in American Rock'n Roll.
