MASSAPEQUA PARK, NY—East Lake Elementary School in Massapequa Park is a National PTA School of Excellence for 2020-2022. The program awards the title to schools that display an exceptional partnership between the PTA and the school. 351 schools were named this year nationwide, and nine are located on Long Island. "Over 40 years of research shows increased family engagement is linked to school improvement and student achievement," PTA.org writes on the website for the contest.
