VIENNA, VA — Vienna Police responded to a shooting and made an arrest Thursday. Around 12:36 a.m. Thursday, police responded to a call about a shooting in the Navy Federal Credit Union parking lot, at 820 Follin Lane SE. Police located a man who had been shot in the upper torso, and the man was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The Fairfax County Police K9 unit and helicopter helped locate the suspect nearby. Kwame Adjei, 25, of Manassas, was charged with malicious wounding, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, credit card theft, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, providing false identity to a law enforcement officer, and possession of a controlled substance. Police say the shooting was related to a dispute between the suspect and victim. There is no apparent threat to the public. During the arrest, police determined the suspect had twelve outstanding warrants in Loudoun County. He was served with warrants charging him with failing to appear on a probation violation, two counts of forging a check, four counts of uttering forged checks, four counts of conspiring to commit fraud, and obtaining money by false pretense. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and is held without bond. Below are other notable incidents reported to Vienna Police from Oct. 1 to 7. Arrest -Vehicle Tampering 21-0057541000 Block Fairway Drive, NEOctober 1 4:45 a.m. Officers responded to the report of a suspicious man. Residents in the area stated that their security cameras showed the man approaching parked vehicles and entering carports. Officers located the man in the 900 block of Fairway Drive, NE. Upon the officers' interaction with the man, they detected signs of impairment and found that he was in possession of property that did not belong to him. Ofc. Crandall arrested the 22-year-old man from North Westmoreland Street in Arlington, Virginia. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with four counts of Credit Card Theft, Entering a Vehicle with Intent to Commit a Crime, Petit Larceny, Drunk In Public, and Possession of a Narcotic. On October 5, additional warrants were obtained and served on the man charging a second count of Entering a Vehicle with Intent to Commit a Crime and a second count of Petit Larceny. Grand Larceny 21-0057841100 Block Hillcrest Drive, SWOctober 1 between 8:15 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. A resident reported that her purse was stolen from her unlocked vehicle. Two of her credit cards were used to make unauthorized purchases. Stolen Vehicle 21-005777100 Block James Drive, SWBetween October 1 at 11:30 p.m. and October 2 at 7:00 a.m. A resident reported that his vehicle was stolen from the driveway. The resident had left the vehicle unlocked with the keys inside it. Petit Larceny 21-005787ChipotleOctober 2 6:40 p.m.A juvenile reported that his bicycle was stolen.The juvenile left the bicycle outside, unsecured while he was in the restaurant. Vandalism 21-005907500 Block Orchard Street, NWOctober 7 between 7:55 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. A resident reported that his daughter had left his vehicle legally parked on the roadway. When she returned she found one of the tires had been slashed.
