NEW LONDON, CT — A fire was reported at a New London restaurant early Friday morning, according to The New London Day. A passerby reported the fire at the Mambo Bar and Restaurant on Bank Street at about 5:30 a.m. Firefighters had to force entry into the basement where a small fire was located near the stove. The chef said he thinks the fire was the result of leaving an oven on with food still in it. It was not clear if the restaurant would be closed, according to The New London Day.
