A Year Later, Point Boro Gets Ready To Celebrate Its Centennial

POINT PLEASANT, NJ – After being pushed back over a year due to COVID, the borough of Point Pleasant will be holding its centennial celebration on Oct. 16 at Riverfront Park starting at 4 p.m. The borough did make a video marking the occasion but still decided to push back the celebration to next fall last year because, according to borough administrator Frank Pannucci, they felt it would be a safe time to do it. The event will have activities for the whole family to enjoy, plus food trucks and a beer garden sponsored by the borough's Chamber of Commerce and live music from The Nerds and Brue Crew, plus a fireworks display at dusk. There will also be a giveaway of various prizes marking the Boro's centennial bash, according to Point Pleasant's mayor, Robert Sabosik. "We want to thank our sponsors for everything they've done to make this happen. Because of their donations, we will have plenty of centennial-marked novelties like t-shirts, mugs, and other things to give out," Sabosik said. "While we were all disappointed we couldn't have our Centennial on our actual birthday last year, I am so happy to be able to do it now. I love Point Borough, we all do, and I want everyone to come and celebrate as one."
