ROUND ROCK, TX — Round Rock bus patrons can ride for free all-month-long in October, city officials said. Capital Metro, which is offering free fares across the Austin Metro this month, is expanding that promotion to Round Rock from Oct. 1 - Oct. 31. The fare suspension is being put in place to thank customers as the agency works to mitigate the service impacts resulting from staff shortages and to encourage more ridership. Live in Round Rock? "Capital Metro recognizes the challenges the agency's current level of service has brought to the community, and implementing free fares for a period of time is a small way to ease those challenges," CapMetro officials said. Round Rock is also applying the free fares for the month of October to its paratransit program, officials said.
