HOUSTON, TX — A bicyclist was struck by multiple cars and was killed in a crash on Eastex Freeway at Hopper Road on Thursday night. The vehicles remained on the scene after the crash occurred, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. The man was walking his bike across the southbound lanes when he was struck by the first vehicle. A second vehicle swerved and missed him but hit his bicycle, and a third was unable to avoid hitting him, according to a Houston Chronicle report. The incident comes on the heels of a crash involving cyclists in Waller County in which a 16-year-old driver attempted to "roll coal" on a group riding on Old Highway 290 and hit them, sending four to local hospitals.
