Press release from the City of Austin: October 6, 2021 Case: 21-2761275 Date: Sunday, October 3, 2021 Time: 7:22 p.m. Location: 502 W. Longspur Blvd. Deceased: Jeremiah Dayohn Johnson, Black male, born March 16, 1990 The Austin Police Department (APD) has identified Jeremiah Johnson as the deceased in the October 3 homicide on Longspur Blvd. At approximately 7:22 p.m., Austin 9-1-1 received calls reporting that multiple gunshots were heard in the area of 502 W. Longspur Blvd. APD officers arrived on scene and observed a male subject lying on the ground with apparent gunshot wounds. Lifesaving measures were attempted, but unfortunately, Dr. Abraham pronounced the male deceased at 7:36 p.m. Homicide investigators and crime scene technicians responded to interview witnesses and process the scene. On Monday, October 4, The Travis County Medical Examiner's office conducted an autopsy and determined the cause of death to be multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death, homicide.
