TINLEY PARK, IL — A Tinley Park man was charged with unlawful possession with intent to deliver Thursday after police said they found a large quantity of drugs inside his home during a search.
According to police, Brad Ryan, 23, of the 16700 block of Hillside Place, was found with more than 5,000 grams of cannabis, THC wax and THC vape cartridges in his home. Police said Ryan was selling to people throughout the south suburbs.
Officers said they received information about Ryan selling the products, later learning that he obtained the products through mail from southern California, and that he would have the packages delivered to a residence located in the 6800 block of White Egret Court. Once the packages were delivered, Ryan would recover them and bring them back home, according to police.
Police said information gathered during an investigation lead officers to secure a search warrant for one of these packages, and located 420 THC vape oil cartridges — $45 per unit for a total street value of $18,900. The package was then delivered as expected to the home in the 6800 block of White Egret Court, where Ryan recovered it a few hours later, bringing it back to his house and opened it, police said.
Police said they then executed a search warrant at his home, where they found 24.5 lbs. of raw cannabis, 8.5 lbs. of THC wax and 1,020 units of THC vape cartridges/edible THC. Police also said they recovered a large amount of money, but didn't specify how much.
Ryan was transported Friday morning to the Bridgeview Courthouse for bond court, according to police.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
