Press release from the City of Wilkes-Barre: October 8, 2021 - 12:27pm A free document shredding event will be held for the residents of Wilkes-Barre City on Saturday, October 30th and on Saturday, November 6th, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM, at Wilkes-Barre City Department of Public Works Facility, 3 Conynham Ave., Wilkes-Barre, PA  18702. Proof of Wilkes-Barre City residency is required (i.e. Driver's License or Utility Bill). Residents will have the opportunity to have up to 3 boxes of their private documents properly destroyed at no cost.  A 3-box limit will be strictly enforced. ACCEPTED ITEMS:Documents that contain personal or private information.  Examples include: PROHIBITED ITEMS: Residents are asked to check papers for foreign objects that may cause damage to our shredding equipment. Examples include: rocks, batteries, silverware, computer cables, clothes and other miscellaneous items. Junk mail does not need to be shredded and should be placed in household recycling bin to be recycled. This press release was produced by the City of Wilkes-Barre.
