Press release from the City of Wilkes-Barre: October 8, 2021 - 12:27pm A free document shredding event will be held for the residents of Wilkes-Barre City on Saturday, October 30th and on Saturday, November 6th, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM, at Wilkes-Barre City Department of Public Works Facility, 3 Conynham Ave., Wilkes-Barre, PA  18702. Proof of Wilkes-Barre City residency is required (i.e. Driver's License or Utility Bill). Residents will have the opportunity to have up to 3 boxes of their private documents properly destroyed at no cost.  A 3-box limit will be strictly enforced. ACCEPTED ITEMS:Documents that contain personal or private information.  Examples include: PROHIBITED ITEMS: Residents are asked to check papers for foreign objects that may cause damage to our shredding equipment. Examples include: rocks, batteries, silverware, computer cables, clothes and other miscellaneous items.
