We are a family owned and operated business located in Murrieta California. Located in the Inland Empire we are just minutes away from anywhere in the Temecula Valley. No need for the long commute to Los Angeles, Orange or San Diego Counties. We are seeking a knowledgeable, talented, and industrious Mid-Level Network Technician to support our small business clients. The ideal candidate must have in-depth knowledge of network appliances and servers. Candidate has to have the ability to collaborate on projects and can also work independently to complete assigned tasks. Network Technicians will work in-house and be assigned to various projects to accommodate our small business clients. The Network Technician will be responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet client objectives and SLAs. The omission of specific statements of duties and responsibilities does not exclude them from other duties and responsibilities not specifically stated in this job posting. • Essential Duties & Responsibilities o Design, develop, implement, and maintain network infrastructure for our small business clients o Determine network bandwidth needs and recommend measures to meet those requirements o Conduct network modeling and analysis to construct a reliable, high-performance integrated network o Direct system installation o Program routers, switches, and other infrastructure hardware o Configure and maintain Microsoft servers o Maintain/configure firewalls and access points o Manage domain names and certificates o Preform required network/server maintenance o Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability o Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning o Provide Level 1-3 Service Desk support o Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures o Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution o Create disaster recovery plans o Manage backup plans o Involved with current/new projects as lead or team member o Manage vendor support agreements, software licenses/keys, hardware leases, service contracts and asset inventory for our clients • Requirements o Bachelor’s degree in network administration, information technology, computer science, or a related field o 3+ years of experience in IT, network administration, system security and support, or infrastructure support o Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS) o Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model o Hands-on experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analytics tools o Experience with Windows Server, Exchange and Active Directory o Knowledge of Ruckus or Cisco appliances o Fortinet NSE4 or higher Certification o Self-starter, excellent communication, problem-solving skills and attention to detail o Ability to travel to client locations and work flexible hours o Professional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate thoughts and ideas o Organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and/or projects at one time o Ability to work as an individual or on a project team o Ability to interact professionally and effectively with customers, vendors and partners within and outside the Company o Decision‐making skills with the ability to investigate and weigh alternatives and select the course of action that provides the greatest benefit to the organization. o Time management skills with the ability to prioritize and schedule daily activities as defined by management. o Ability to properly illustrate customer network diagrams, system configurations and proposed solutions. o Personal Development Skills with the ability to utilize business provided education resources to better the employee’s capabilities to service the customer or position the business for future opportunities. • Technical Skills o Experience with Microsoft desktop operating systems - Windows XP, 7, 8, & 10 o Experience with Microsoft server operating systems - Windows Server 2008, 2010, 2012 & 2016 o Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, FSMO Roles, DHCP & DNS o Experience with Fortinet products, FortiGates, FortiSwitch, FortiAP o Experience with VMWare ESXi Server, including VCenter and shared storage solutions o Experience with Network Switching, Routing Concepts, Firewall and Wireless LAN Solutions – Cisco and/or Ruckus/Brocade o Experience with Computer, Server and Networking hardware o Experience with Backup and Restore solutions o Experience with TCP/IP and networking concepts o Experience with Remote Management and Monitoring Tools o Experience with Project Management, Resource Scheduling and Labor Tracking
