LIBERTYVILLE, IL — An Advocate Condell Medical Center nurse accused of not properly caring for a patient, who has since died, faces reckless conduct charges, authorities said Wednesday.
The "criminal conduct" of the 32-year-old Grayslake woman did not cause the patient's death, but appears to have "inserted her own agenda into the solemn end-of-life decision making process," Lake County State's Attorney Eric Rinehart said in a statement Wednesday.
Geneva Wright, of the 300 block of Lincoln Avenue, was arrested on a warrant Tuesday following an investigation by the Libertyville Police Department, Lake County State's Attorney's Office and Lake County Coroner's Office. The probe was launched in March after Advocate made authorities aware of the patient's death and the medical care provided by Wright, according to a news release from the Libertyville Police Department.

Authorities were not saying exactly what Wright did or did not do to warrant the charges. Her actions did "violate the sacred trust" we all have for health care providers, Rinehart said.
Wright's bail was set at $20,000. She has since posted the $2,000 bond required for her release.
She is next expected in court on Oct. 26.
