Oregon COVID-19 Deaths Near 4,000, Total Cases Approach 350,000

HILLSBORO, OR —While the number of deaths related to COVID-19 creeps toward 4,000 and the number of cases approaches 350,000, there is good news on the horizon. The Oregon Health Authority says that not only are the number of daily cases declining, they see that trend continuing through the end of the month. On Friday, OHA reported 1,580 new and presumptive cases, which is down from the more than 2,000 a day that were being reported about a month ago. Live in Hillsboro? The state says if the trend continues, there will be a day average of 1,275 new cases by the end of the month. Also. while there were 658 people requiring hospitalization on Friday, by the end of the month, OHA estimates that number will fall to 78 people a day. Washington County (125 cases), Multnomah (172 cases) and Clackamas (95) counties continue to be among the counties with the highest number of new cases in the state. Meanwhile, the OHS says that one of the 23 new deaths reported to the state, one is 32 year old man from Douglas County who had no underlying conditions.
