Press release from the Iredell County Government: October 7, 2021 Date/Time of Offense: Monday, November 30, 2020.  Offense(s)/Charge(s): Felony Identity Theft  Location of Incident: Mooresville, North Carolina   Suspect(s): Daphne Regina Walsh, 40 Years Old                     193 Teba Hollow Lane                     Taylorsville, North Carolina 28681   Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Wednesday, February 10, 2021, the Iredell County Sheriff's Office received a report in reference to an individual who had been a victim of identity theft. The victim reported he had been laid off from his job on October 31, 2020. On Wednesday, November 30, 2020, he attempted to file for unemployment with the State of North Carolina and was unable to do so. He told the deputies this personal identifying information had been used and a claim had already been filed.   The investigation was assigned to Detective C. Scannella with the Iredell County Sheriff's Office Economics Crime Unit. Detective Scannella interviewed the victim, sent out information requests and search warrants seeking information from the the North Carolina Department of Commerce, Choice Bank, and LiLi.com.   When the information was returned and reviewed, it was determined Daphne Regina Walsh was the suspect who used the information. Detective Scannella received an arrest warrant for Felony Identity Theft against Walsh.   Daphne Regina Walsh was by the Taylorsville Police Department on this warrant. She was then taken to the Alexander County Detention Center, where she was issued a 76,000.00 dollar secured bond on the Iredell County charge along with six other outstanding charges from various other agencies.  Daphne Regina Walsh, 40 Years Old 193 Teba Hollow Lane Taylorsville, North Carolina 28681  76,000.00 DOLLARS SECURED BOND.  Criminal history: 10 Counts of Misdemeanor Common Law Forgery, Three Counts of Felony Obtaining Property by False Pretense, Felony Uttering a Forged Instrument, Misdemeanor Resisting a Public Officer, Misdemeanor Aid and Abet Domestic Violence Protection Order Violation, Misdemeanor Shoplifting, Misdemeanor Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle.   This press release was produced by the Iredell County Government.
