Press release from the Reid Park Zoo: by Chelo Grubb October 7, 2021 Welcome Home, Joaquin! We are beary excited to introduce you to Joaquin the Andean bear — or should we say reintroduce you! Joaquin was born at Reid Park Zoo in 2002. He has returned as part of the Association of Zoo & Aquariums Species Survival Plan. Joaquin is currently living in our Animal Health Center for a standard quarantine and will move into the Andean bear habitat later this month.
