Skyline Construction is looking to hire skilled and reliable construction workers specialized in interior remodeling (kitchens, bathrooms, flooring) and windows and doors installation. You will work on a variety of projects performing general tasks, which include but are not limited to: loading and unloading materials, setting up temporary or permanent structures, installing drywall and windows, painting walls. We primarily work with local residential and commercial clients, but some travel may be necessary.
Responsibilities for Construction Worker
- Ensure the construction site is ready each day for the current project by preparing materials, tools, and equipment
- Apply new project instructions for each job and make adjustments as directed by the construction manager or supervisor
- Wear clean safety equipment, such as ear plugs, safety glasses, gloves, helmets, and work boots
- Comply with health and safety regulations when operating equipment or walking on the job site even when not on active duty
- Leave construction equipment and tools clean, organized, and stored in an orderly fashion after each use
- Dispose of debris and hazardous materials according to local environmental standards and regulations
- Act as a supervisor for the other employees on the job site and as a person in charge in the absence of the business owner
Qualifications for Construction Worker
- Familiarity with hand tools such as power drills, hammers, and saws
Commitment to wearing protective safety gear for heat, noise, and prevention of injury on the job site
- Ability to physically stand, bend, squat and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work long shifts, usually up to 8 hours, during the day
- General knowledge of construction operations and procedures
