Just before 5:30 AM today, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office received a call of a person who had been shot. The victim was located at a convenience story in the 1100 block of Centerpoint Parkway. Responding medical personnel pronounced the male victim dead on the scene.
According to reports, the shooting may have occurred near the Charter East Apartments in Centerpoint and the victim was transported to the convenience store. Detectives are on scene and are currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances leading up to this crime.
