Searching for energetic, enthusiastic French teacher and nanny for our 4 children in Aspen. Free housing provided in an independent large studio apartment on property on the back of Aspen Mountain. Open your door to hiking trails, biking, skiing, skinning, and all the beauty of nature you can imagine, year-round. Pet-friendly. Open to housing a couple, but only employing 1 person. Ideal position for a fit, outdoor, athletic person, or person craving the beauty of wild nature, in one of the most uniquely beautiful places in the world, 15 minutes from the town of Aspen, Colorado. Candidate should also have a background in music (preferably violin or piano, but must be able to read music and understand basic music theory). Must be able to drive and have 4WD car (there is no public transportation available to house). Position available starting 12/26/21, or, at the latest, 1/6/22. Responsibilities include: Mornings or middays with 1.5 year old baby girl: - Playing developmentally appropriate games, speaking French - Feeding lunch and snacks, putting her down for nap time, changing diapers, taking her to play outside and explore, etc - Picking up after her, putting away toys, organizing toys, tidying up and putting away children’s laundry Afternoons and Sundays with 10 year old twins and 6 year old - Supervising one on one music practice time for each of the older children - French lessons following the CNED with the children in 6eme, with the goal of keeping them up to grade level so they can be reintegrated in school in France in 2 years - Doing Cahier du Jour and other French reading and writing activities with 6 year old with the aim of teaching him to read and write in French - Ideal person crafts other lessons in French culture as a weekly activity/lesson, for example watching a film in French with a set of questions and a discussion organized about it 40 hr work week, 5 days/week, Sunday-Thursday (negotiable on days) $700/week + free housing; 1099 position
