Hi, Large Collection of Black Dolls to be Photographed. Would like to call it "Black Dolls Matter"
Wasn't sure where to post this. I have made an attempt to photograph some of these dolls (using my phone) in the flower garden outside the Smith College Conservatory. They are just OK. Some I haven't gotten to. There are about 30 dolls.
Passers by were impressed by the dolls and suggested a photo exhibition of the collection. Great Idea! A bit too big of a project for just one person. So...
Looking to put together a group of volunteers to accomplish a myriad of tasks, including;
- Prepping the dolls (fix hair, straighten clothes...),
- Select location or set for the photo shoots,
- Lighting,
- Taking photos and videos of the dolls as individuals, pairs, and as a group if possible.
- Handling the dolls during photographing
- Editing photos and videos
- I don't have complete information on the history of each doll, so research could be done which makes knowing about the creation of the doll ever so much more interesting. And perhaps about the doll maker. Education wise, the exhibit could include the History of Black Dolls (which already exists).
If you think you can lend a hand or help organize volunteers please call or text me.
Thank You
