I am helping a German au pair find a new host family. She is currently living with me in Carlsbad and has 10 months left on her COVID Extension and is fully vaccinated. Here is more about her: My name is Carina, I’m 25 years old and from Germany Infant Qualified (experienced with ages 0-16) Fluent English and very Strong driver (9 Years) Great Swimmer Vegetarian (but not picky with food) Pet Lover Office Clerk,Former Soldier, Former Hairdresser I’m a very active person and I love baking, cooking and spending time together, I love holidays and decorating the house, I‘m also a very good driver. I just finished my second year in Florida and I had a wonderful time with them, I also absolutely love my first host family in Boston and I had an amazing time with them as well, we are all still super close and I’m still part of the family. Both my host moms would love to talk to you and tell you about our experience. In Tampa and i took care of a 4 year old active boy, and a 2 year old energetic girl. My host mom works from home and my host dad goes to work. My first year I spent in Boston, Massachusetts. I took care of a 3 year old boy, a 5 year old girl and a new born! And both my Host Parents worked from home. I am responsible for the kids laundry and I clean up after them, I help my family with everything they need and I love to organize different places and things. I like to involve the kids in the things I do, for example when I fold the clothes they can match the socks. I love to play outside with the kids, on playgrounds, ride bikes, play soccer or color with chalk. We also go to different parks sometimes we visit splash pads, or we just play at the beach. I also had a wonderful Birthday and Christmas with both my host Family’s. In my first year I was allowed to have my sister over for 2 weeks! I loved spending the holidays together and we did lots of cookie baking with the kids! In my first year COVID was a challenge since I missed my family, I also had 3 kids at the same time, but I learned a lot and I tried my best to keep the kids entertained. I limited their electronics like iPad or tv time. We did homeschool, painted, made bubble baths for toys, sometimes we went for walks, we potty trained the litte one and I tried my best to make their time at home super fun! We also learned how to ride bikes/ inline skates and we did a baking show every Wednesday! I also have lots of different childcare experiences besides the usual babysitting. I have 2 younger siblings, i was in the german military where we went to schools to tell them about military careers and we also went to kindergartens and sport events to volunteer. I have a lot of friends with kids, I have a lot of experience with children aged 0 up to 16 years. There are several reasons why I wanted to be an au pair, but the most important reason is that I really love children. I'm a responsible, energetic, creative and caring person. Being around children brings me joy, smiles, laughter and happiness which is good for the heart. I feel confident and secure on working with children and I want to provide them undivided attention. Children’s safety and well-being comes first! For me it is important to resolve any issues the child may have. I am aware of my duties and responsibilities. My Hobbies: I love traveling and baking/ cooking a lot. Organizing stuff is also one of my favorite things to do! I love to go to the movies, meet some friends, listen to music and travel. I enjoy summer time, and swimming is also one of my favorite hobby’s! For me, it’s really important to have a good relationship with my host family.
