Selfish people dumping pets

I am shocked at how many people are dumping the pets they "rescued" over the last 18 months. The cat/dogs fell in love with you, thought you valued them and now you "don't have the time" I know we shouldn't be surprised at all the selfish humans that got an animal to meet their selfish needs, and are now finished with them. But my heart breaks for these cats and dogs, displaced and confused as to why their rescuers that needed them and they bonded too, are now throwing them out like a toy they tired of.
