Dog hit by car / apologies and thank you

My dog was hit and killed by a car last night on commercial street (my fault for not having him on leash) and from the bottom of my heart I want to say I’m terribly sorry for putting the drivers of the car through that and I’m very grateful to the man who gave us his son’s baby blanket to wrap the body in.
