Description
iLA Adventure School is an outdoor adventure school that creatively teaches pre-k fundamentals while inspiring students to be proud and compassionate leaders of their community while also valuing nature and respecting the planet. In a nutshell, we: - are a preschool with no building. We meet in the park by a great playground, go on daily hikes and explore the forest. - do reading/writing exercises and art on the park tables and do circle time on a big floor blanket. - keep the teacher/student ratio below 7:1 at all times - meet from 9:30am - 2:30pm weekdays - offer full time or part time. Need only 2 days a week? Let us know! - accept kids older than preschool-age. Currently we have a 6 year old full time and a handful of 7 and 8 year olds that drop in from time to time. Testimonials: “My son has been in the program since he was 3 and he is now 5. iLA has instilled in him a real sense of guardianship and pride in his everyday outdoor classroom - nature! Through many days spent learning at the park about science, math, art and history, hiking and exploring, and various Metro trips throughout the city - iLA has held a special space and respect for these young humans teaching them pre-k fundamentals alongside helping to build their characters and emotional intelligence. I cannot recommend this program enough! I say this sincerely and with confidence that iLA is an exceptional school that offers a diverse and well-rounded program for children to play and learn to be themselves” — Christene - iLA mom "During early pandemic I didn't want my kids to waste away in front of screens on zoom learning OR be inside of a building. When I saw iLA @GriffithPark, I was surprised to see they were a school. I begged the teacher to take my kids IMMEDIATELY. It was a great decision for my mental health and the development of my 2 kids! These kids have their whole lives to be institutionalized–let them learn in nature for these first few years!" — Zack - iLA dad of 2 iLA was born out of a non-profit organization, Vibes 365, which was created as a way to teach kids to take ownership of Los Angeles by volunteering and caring for LA's natural resources and citizens. Together the founders took the mission of Vibes 365, combined it with their passion for education and created iLA. The core values of iLA include fostering a student’s dedication and interest in their community, stewardship, responsibility and compassionate leadership while also teaching the fundamentals of education (reading, writing, math, science, art, and geography). If you'd like to enroll your child please send us a message! We can give you information about our pricing, payment plan options, volunteer opportunities, etc. Cheers!
