Description
Hey there people! My name is Jesse and I’m new to the East Coast and looking for new friends to make a semi-lax Indie project with. I’m not limited on what type of musicians I’m looking for necessarily, but I’m predominately looking for bass players and drummers with the knowledge and desire to play this kind of music.
About the Project:
In short, I’m looking to make a collaborative Indie project a la Jeff Buckley, Elliott Smith, of Montreal, Tame Impala, Bjork, Neutral Milk Hotel, etc.. Ideally, I’d like to focus on the more progressive aspects of those artists (dynamic rhythm section, modular synth, complex composition, etc.) in order to highlight musicianship across the board.
I also teach quite a bit, so this would be a good project for somebody who’s also a working professional or has other musical commitments. Ideally, we’d meet up a maximum of 4x a month on prearranged weekend dates in a location central to all of us.
Additionally, I am open to the goals of this project; I don’t want to preclude anybody, but the idea of playing 5 shows a week or one show a month are both exciting prospects to me.
About Me:
I’m originally from LA; I play any stringed instrument that doesn’t require a bow, but I’m most comfortable on Guitar, Vocals, and Piano/Synth. I took a break from music for the last few years, but prior to my self-instituted hiatus, I had a ton of experience touring, playing shows and recording.
Vocally, I’ve been compared to Kurt Cobain, Billy Corgan, Elliott Smith, and various other lo-hi signers like Black Francis.
I’m currently a High School Teacher and Adjunct Professor in MA; I love education, the arts, and legal studies.
That’s about it! If you made it until the end of this long-winded ad, I’m thankful! Let’s make some noise!
